Renault will take its roadshow to Korea in early October
The Renault F1 Team will give South Korea an early sample of the thrills of motorsport as it takes its Roadshow to Seoul on the first weekend of October.
The weekend aims to give the capital a look into the sights and sounds of Formula One racing ahead of the inaugural Korean Grand Prix set for October 24 at the Korea International Circuit in Yeongam.
Renault team prinicipal Eric Boullier said: "Every time we race in a new country, we are provided with an exciting opportunity to reach out to a new public and to win new fans, by introducing them to the thrill of Formula 1.
"When it comes to the Korean Grand Prix, it makes sense that the Renault F1 Team should spearhead the sport's arrival in South Korea" Boullier said.
"Renault has strong links to the country, through Renault Samsung Motors, and we are proud to be giving the residents of Seoul their first experience of F1, at the beginning of a landmark month for motorsport in South Korea."
The Renault Team's third driver and 2010 GP2 driver, Ho-Pin Tung will be the in charge of the R29.
The GP2 driver has been ruled out of the last two races after damaging his spine during an incident at the Hungarian feature race. An opening lap collision with Jules Bianchi caused Tung to sustain a minor fracture of one of his lumbar vertebrates.
