Monaco GP 2010 - A day of rest on Friday

Today, the street circuit of Monaco has not reverberated to the sound of Formula 1 engines, as this has traditionally been a day off, even if the junior formulae had some track time in the early part of the day. This is a Monegasque rule, based on a religious holiday, although it also means that commerce can resume for at least most of a day during the GP weekend, as the streets are once again opened up to shoppers.

After the traditional team dinner last night, the two Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro drivers had the luxury of a morning off, coming into the paddock in the early afternoon to take part in some sponsor and media activities, including a special meeting on the Aldar terrace with the CEO of Aldar Properties, John Bullough. Before meeting up with the engineers who had been at the track since nine this morning, to study data from free practice, prior to tomorrow's qualifying, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso chose to spend some time greeting the fans who were in Monaco to meet their favourite drivers.
