Button slams Massa's 'block'

A 'very annoyed' Jenson Button has blasted Felipe Massa after the Ferrari driver blocked one of his flying laps in Qualy Three for the Monaco GP.

After Qualy One passed without incident, the most significant moment of controversy occurred in the final shoot-out when Button's McLaren was clearly hampered by an idling Massa as he approached the final corner.

"I don't know what he was doing," complained Button. "There were only ten drivers on the track so it should have been easy [to get out of the way].

"I don't know how good the lap would have been but I am very annoyed because he blatantly slowed me down."

Button will start Sunday's race in just eighth, but admitted that he was primarily handicapped by a lack of pace from his McLaren.

"The car in Q1 was pretty good on the harder tyres but we didn't run them in Q3, so it's a little bit of a shame, really, because I think that was a better option," he told the BBC.

"There was a lot of movement from the rear at high speed, it didn't feel great and I don't think Lewis is particularly happy either. It's a bit frustrating, the car didn't feel that great in qualifying on the softer tyres, so it's pity we choose to go that way but there you go."
