The organisers of the Jordan Rally have published the seeded entry list for this year's event, round three of the World Championship season, which starts on 1 April.
The WRC event rotation system meant Jordan was absent from the 2009 calendar, but it returns this year to run together with a round of the Middle East Rally Championship. In total the entry list features thirty-six cars, the majority of which are registered for the WRC, P-WRC or S-WRC competitions.
Topping the list, after his win in Mexico, is championship leader Sebastien Loeb of the Citroen Total World Rally Team. He and team-mate Dani Sordo will drive C4 World Rally Cars. In the manufacturer's second tier squad, former F1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen will join Sebastien Ogier at the Citroen Junior World Rally Team.
The most recent Jordan Rally winner, Mikko Hirvonen, joins Jari-Matti Latvala as the two points nominated Ford Focus entries for the BP Ford Abu Dhabi team. Abu Dhabi driver Khalid Al Qassimi will pilot a third car for the squad.
The Stobart M-Sport team will field two Focus RS WRCs for Henning Solberg and Matthew Wilson, while Munchis World Rally Team driver Federico Villagra will start his second rally of the season in another Focus World Rally Car. Rally Mexico podium finisher Petter Solberg will also be in Jordan, driving his privately entered Citroen C4 WRC.
In addition to the top level WRC competition, Jordan counts as the third round of the Production Car and Super 2000 World Rally Championships.
The S-WRC features its biggest line-up of the season so far, with nine entries including Skoda drivers Per-Gunnar Andersson, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Patrik Sandell and Ford drivers Janne Tuohino, Michal Kosciuszko and Xevi Pons. Of his year's S-WRC registered drivers, only Albert Llovera and Martin Prokop have elected to skip Jordan.
After victory in Mexico, reigning P-WRC-champion Armindo Araujo will be back in the Production category, where he'll face rivals including Gianluca Linari and Martin Semerad. The Production regulars will be joined by Subaru Impreza driver Amjad Farah, a multiple Jordan National Rally champion who has been granted a wild card entry by the event’s organisers, Jordan Motorsport.
