KIMI RÄIKKÖNEN AND JENNI DAHLMAN-RÄIKKÖNEN CONFIRM: "SEPARATION IS A SAD FACT"

Formula One driver Kimi Räikkönen and show jumping rider Jenni Dahlman-Räikkönen have decided to separate and live apart after 8 years of marriage, just before the start of a new F1 season.

Sad news of the separation was confirmed first in the world to Seiska by a trustee of Räikkönen’s: "Separation is a sad fact.".

The couple, despite their young age, have been together for over 12 years.

Seiska Magazine: Black Jack and drinks with a blanket around his shoulder

It was reported that Kimi Räikkönen arrived to Finland at the end of last week, since he got some extra time off due to the testing being cancelled because of weather conditions. However Seiska knew that the Iceman had spent the Labor Day in his old neighborhood in Espoo last Tuesday

- Kimi appeared to a restaurant in Latokaski in the afternoon with his buddies. He was wearing a cap that was turned the other way and he had some white blanket over his hoodie, and he also wore that white blanket all night, people who were present told.

He challenged other young men who were in the restaurant to come and play with him, and they playedeagerly with the F1-star. With Kimi's suggestion they placed the cigarettes on the table as a bet.

- Kimi would had wanted to buy them beer but because the boys refused he then bought them soda drinks, people told.

Kimi himself was having yellow Summery-drinks. Icehockey-player Matti Hagman was also enjoying some time in Kimi's entourage.

- Kimi is certainly no Iceman, instead he is a very talkative companion who told funny stories and jokes all the time, about Lewis Hamilton for example. He seems like a really terrific guy, they praised to Seiska.

On Friday night the partying continued in Kimi's neighborhood again. The popular Reggae-artist Jukka Poika performed in restaurant Kannunkulma, hence the atmosphere was already in the roof when Kimi and his friend cruised with a mini-van to the place a little after midnight.

- Kimi also played black jack but either he didn't have any clue of the game or then he just wasn't lucky, a few hundred euros went that fast to the House. Of course when knowing Kimi's incomes they are peanuts, the players reported.

The restaurant was almost full due to the favorite artist, but they arranged for Räikkönen and his entourage a bit of their own peace. They put up a VIP-space for them in a corner near the income by putting up a few tables.

- The others were evicted from the VIP-space so that the man got a little privacy, people from the bar told.

Jukka Poika spent a moment with Kimi after the gig. Kimi and his friends were going to an after-party to which they also invited Jukka Poika.

- However he refused politely from the most likely speedy after-party, which Kimi and the rest of the entourage thought was unheard of, people from the restaurant informed.

Around 2.30 in the morning Kimi and his friends jumped in a big taxi and left the place. Kimi's hilarious mini-vacation and relaxing with good friends ended yesterday, because the driver had to return from the 'track' to the track, in other words his work.

Seiska's reporter tells: This is what Kimi Räikkönen is like for real!

Seiska's reporter Panu Hörkkö visited Kimi Räikkönen at his home and he was surprised - positively

When I drove on Feb 3rd from Helsinki to Kimi Räikkönen's villa in Porkkalanniemi I had butterflies in my stomach. I had actually had them ever since the night before and Kimi even visited in my few hours dream to be honest.

So the unconsciousness pulled cruel tricks on me. I was however about to meet Kimi for the first time and I had heard that he hates reporters. I wondered which one of us is more troubled with the meeting - the one who was going to be interviewed or the interviewer?

Kimi's expression was something completely different from what I had expected!

When the photographer and I arrived to Porkkalanniemi we were greeted by Riku Kuvaja. He informed in his kind way that he would go and walk around the villa with the photographer and I could soon interview Kimi in peace.

Soon after that the glass door opened and a beanie-headed Kimi came out to shake hands with me.

I immediately saw an expression on Kimi's face that I hadn't seen in one single magazine or tv-interview earlier. Kimi was unbelievably laidback and frankly put charming, if a man can say so about another man.

Kimi's boyishness and grinning continued all through our 3-hours meeting and the ice broke easily in the Iceman's cave. Kimi answered my questions in a laidback way and used his witty sense of humour. His laughter was catching and the atmosphere was warm.

As an example I could mention my question "How tough steam-man are you?" Kimi replied in his personal way:

- I like to go to a sauna but just the normal steams. No Sauna-Timo-business for sure, Kimi said.

It wasn't pretending from his side, I can say based upon my life experience that Kimi is genuinely a laidback person - and modest too on top of that - unlike many "heroes" I have met.

Lacking speaking skills, they say!

After we left the villa I could only think that dammit, that guy just hates cameras just like probably 99% of Finnish men also hate!


Next F1-season I am going to concentrate on following only Kimi and his grips in Lotus. The guy did after all set the fastest laptime in Jerez testing!

I will leave in their own league those who nag about Kimi's poor skills of commenting or posing. Afterall I know myself that we Finns have an exceptionally charming hero in this man. And a man can say this about another man.

SEISKA: KIMI HAS FRACTURES AT SPINE

- There are hairline cracks here and there on the vertebras. They have developed from several different crashes in the past 10 years, Kimi told in an interview in 7 päivää-magazine.

According to the magazine Kimi has already went to treatment in Strasbourg, France. There was laser-treatment given to his back.

- I have to go once more to a 2-hour operation and after that you have to be a little bit more careful for a few weeks, Räikkönen told Seiska.

Brother isn't concerned

Räikkönen's brother Rami Räikkönen, a former rally-driver also, doesn't believe that the back-problems are so serious that Kimi's career would be in danger.

- I don't believe that. If his back would really be a mess, you wouldn't be allowed to drive with it, Rami Räikkönen told Iltalehti.

According to Rami, Kimi hasn't whined about back-pain to him. Rami says he didn't hear about the operation until he saw the headline in the magazine.

- We are in contact pretty occassionally. If we talk, then it's usually about other things.

Rami Räikkönen doesn't believe rally is too tough on Kimi's back.

- You sit there so comfortably.

Problems in Mexico

Räikkönen's situation hasn't been completely problem-free this season though. For example over Mexico rally the back showed symptoms. The tests before it were missed because of his lower back aching right after Rally Sweden.

- At the noting session Kimi used a supporting belt to support his lower back. The supporting belt pressed Kimi's spine in a way that a new back problem emerged a little bit higher than the previous one, co-driver Kaj Lindström told Iltalehti at the time.

Mark Arnall who travels along Räikkönen in WRC-rallies downplayed the seriousness of the situation.

- It is treatable. We medicate the pain in ways the regulations allow us to, Arnall said.
